The standards-committees survey and HAND TOWELS

Six days into the survey period, and about half of the staff has responded to the standards-preference survey. Deadline for the survey, linked here, is Nov. 30.

Data-minded members of the steering committee will use the survey results to assign folk into committees, which will enjoy their inaugural gathering during the December faculty meeting. Folks who do not ante up their preferences by 11:59 p.m. Nov. 30, will be assigned without regard to anything other than pulse and body temperature.

In other South NEASC news, responding to complaints (shared second-hand) about the word "underwear" in the body of the survey, I, Rob Greene, survey author, have changed the offending word to "hand towels."

A new steering committee member and a survey

Welcome to Nichole Treadway, representing health and physical education (and niceness and smartness), to the NEASC steering committee. That brings the committee membership to eight, which is close to where we want it. If anything comes down to a vote, I'll check my aye or nay and only serve as a tie-breaker.

On Monday, Nov. 21, we'll be sending out an online survey to see what standards committees the faculty is interested in. We'll close the survey on Nov. 30 and make the committee assignments based on the data we have. Anyone who fails to ante will be used to fill holes.
